Miss Jessie's...Girl Bye!

Another product that deserves the middle finger.

Last night, my hair felt icky so I decided to co-wash with Nature's Gate Jojoba Moisturizing Conditioner. After that, I detangled with my Denman and applied Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave In Conditioner. So far so good....

Next, I decided to apply Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding. As I applied MJCP to my soaking wet hair I noticed curl elongation (great), but also dullness (not great). Nonetheless, I continued applying MJCP until all of my hair was coated. Then, I used my diffuser to dry, because I didn't have the patience to wait for my hair to air dry @ 11PM on a work night.

As my hair dried, the curls felt very crispy and stiff and lacked sheen. The only positive was the curl definition and smell, but I still had 3-5 inches of shrinkage. Nonetheless, in an effort to salvage my 'do, I twisted my hair with Qhemet Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm and flexirods and went to bed.

This morning, my curls had a little pop but they were still stiff, dull and dry, and after fingerstyling, my hands were coated with product (big no-no). Oddly, when I had a TWA, my hair loved this stuff but that was 3 years ago. I could have saved $40 and gotten a pedicure!

  1. the key to the curly pudding is to use it sparingly. U should try this...after washing your hair, use Doo Gro ( i use the light pink one) and then top it off with Bumble and Bumble DeFrizz serum and let it dry. Voila, shiny defined curls. From one curly girl to another.....

  4. Ebony - I liked it when I had my TWA. Probably because I didn't have to use that much. It's not working for me now to much build up and no moisture or sheen. Blah!

  5. I had the same results....crunchiness galore! My hair was also shorter at the time, but I was still disappointed after using it early last year on longer hair...I've finally given up on their products:-(

  6. Back to Curly - Me too! I am no longer a fan of MJ's products. I heard on another blog that in the past year or two that MJ's is using inferior ingredients, which could explain the lackluster results. I sold my MJCP and plan to sell my MJCM too. I really wanted to like her products :(
